What Is A Paint Correction (Polishing)?

Paint correction is the process of restoring your vehicle’s paint by removing surface defects like swirl marks, micro-scratches, oxidation, and haziness — the things that make your car’s paint look dull, tired, or neglected.
Over time, your paint naturally takes a beating. Improper car washes, dirty towels, harsh brushes, and even dust or road debris can create tiny scratches in the clear coat. These micro-scratches and swirl marks build up, scattering light and killing the gloss of your finish.
Paint correction (commonly referred to as "polishing" or "buffing out") safely removes these imperfections by carefully leveling the top layer of the clear coat using professional machines, pads, and compounds. Done properly, it restores clarity, depth, and shine — revealing a smooth, reflective finish underneath.
It’s not just about making your paint look better — it’s about setting the perfect foundation for long-term protection like ceramic coatings or sealants, which bond best to a clean, defect-free surface. If your car’s paint looks dull, cloudy, or full of swirls, paint correction is the reset button that brings it back to life.
